All the way back In 2015, we came up with a reality TV format called 'Single For Six Weeks'. In order to pitch the idea internationally, we produced an English spoken promo. We pitched it as an optimistic, positive version of formats like Temptation Island. Not on an island, but within the city.
Keshet (UK) sold it as a 15 eps series to ITV2 (home of Love Island) on air September 2019 under the new title 'SingleTown'. With good ratings, positive response and even a SingleTown baby as a result. June 2020 the international distribution branch of Keshet was able to announce that the format was sold in Denmark and Norway (airing later in 2020).
And now, 5 years after the initial idea, the ready-made series are being sold to HBOMAX, HBO's new streaming service. NewBe owns a substantial part of the IP to the format and has 100% Dutch production rights.
